The University of Redlands is a private liberal arts and sciences university located in Redlands, which is a city in San Bernardino, in the US state of California, with a population estimated at a number of more than 63 500 inhabitants, during the 2000 census.
The University of Redlands was established in 1907 and it was associated with the American Baptist Church. Today, the university is independent, but maintains an informal relationship with the American Baptist Churches USA. The campus on which it lies was donated by church member Karl C. Wells.
The institution is academically organized into 5 schools, which are: the School of Education, the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, the School of Music and the Johnston Center for Integrative studies.
The athletic teams at the University of Redlands are known as the Bulldogs, which compete in NCAA Division III, in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), in 10 men's and 11 women's sports. Their distinctive colors are maroon and gray and their mascot is Bulldog `Duke`.
